This just in: more legs!
Speaking of legs and unsettlingness, have a gander at the delicate and awesome porcelain work of Toronto-based artist Shary Boyle.

Wowow check out this disturbing taxidermied pig with chesterfield treatment, titled Boudoir, by French artist Sarah Garzoni. Yes, remember, your couch is basically made of bacon.
Totally stumped. The Human Collection by Paris-based designer Dzmitry Samal.
Love the Rotating Kitchen by Zeger Reyers, installed at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf for the show Eating the Universe. (via today & tomorrow)
Bonus: also by him, Hard Water, 2004:
Double bonus:
Hortus Conclusus, a radio with fungus:
What you see above is the bacterium Escherichia coli (better known as E. Coli; you may remember it from every product recall ever), rendered in glass by UK-based artist Luke Jerram.
It is part of a series called “Glass Microbiology,” which Jerram created in part to dispel the common mental picture of diseases as being festively colored (thanks to their depictions in medical literature). The microbes themselves are naturally transparent and, as it turns out, freakier looking than we think. More pics and video after the jump.

This ultra-simple bud vase in the shape of a bomb is pretty lovely. By New York-based designer Mike Boylan.
This lamp has everything going for it: lovely unglazed porcelain, a picture with a skeleton, and a look that fits somewhere between origami and a prop from the Flintstones movie. On top of that, its name is a feat in itself: “Sleeping biscuit.” What’s not to love?
By Russian designer Dima Loginoff.

The wood-and-glass Stake Chair by Russian designer Ton Guglya is completely terrifying. It is based on the medieval torture device called the “Judas Cradle,” which I am sorry I googled (in the words of Perez Hilton, if you are easily offended, then do not click here). Basically, it does what it looks like it would do.

However, if you like scary designy things, then you might check this guy out.
Er…it turns out that this is really the only scary item in his portfolio. Some of it is kind of cute, actually – one thing is even shaped like a heart. Whatever, if you ask me, designing this thing trumps having 50 craps shaped like guns in your oeuvre. Link!
Finally, someone has found the perfect shape for this item! It is about time. This underwater-mine-shaped bath-plug-dongle thingy called “Bath Bomb” (no, not that kind) is pretty boss. It was designed by Ukranian agency Mukomelov Studio, who describes it thusly (via googletranslation, of course):
Absolutely fearless defenders, who are accustomed to all the difficulties and dangers.
A man walking on the blade every day.
Those who know firsthand the words honor and courage.
I love when my household products call me an “absolutely fearless defender.”

I was delighted to spy over on some website that Robert Knight has created this pretty awesome knife block in the shape of a sad little cat. I met Robert in 2007 when we were both interns at the same time for Chris Kabel in Rotterdam – glad to find out he has similar feelings toward those animals with their sandpaper tongues and hate of fun.
